No dedicated ICE or U.S. Marshals detention facility was verified in Clinton County. The local relevance is a handoff. Clinton County Jail can close its booking when ICE, USMS, or another agency receives the person. The county record should name the release disposition, receiving agency, time, and any hold. That event proves departure from the county jail, not departure from all government custody.

Search ICE Release and Custody Records
Use the official ICE Online Detainee Locator System, also called ODLS. It offers two paths. The stronger route uses the person’s A-number and country of birth. Official ICE attorney resources say ODLS may include people currently detained or released from ICE custody within the last 60 days. That is limited recent coverage, not a permanent historical archive. Children are excluded, and security, discretion, delay, or a mismatch may also prevent a result.
Read Clinton County ICE Results
A positive ODLS result should be read as an immigration custody locator result, not a Clinton County release sheet. Note the facility, status, and identifiers the live interface provides. Then compare those facts with the sheriff’s receiving-agency field. A result can establish where ICE reports the person, while the local record establishes when Clinton County surrendered custody.

Request the booking date and time, release or transfer date and time, disposition, receiving agency, detainer or writ notation, transport order, and any open correction notation. Ask for electronic delivery, a fee estimate, and open portions that can be separated from protected material.

Confirm Federal Custody Release Status

A focused request identifies the person, agency number when known, date range, originating and receiving facilities, and the precise event sought. Avoid asking an office to explain an entire case. Request the source record: transfer sheet, release disposition, detention order, movement history, or release record. Federal privacy, law-enforcement, security, court-sealing, and other rules may restrict access. Ask for segregable open material and the legal basis for any withholding.
Keep dates in sequence. A county release time may precede ICE intake. A federal court release order may precede physical processing. A USMS delivery to BOP is not a prison release. The sequence shows whether custody truly ended or merely shifted.

Separate Federal and Missouri Releases
The Clinton County Sheriff’s Office operates the county jail. MODOC controls state prison and state supervision records. BOP controls federal prison records. ICE controls immigration detention information. USMS manages much federal pretrial detention and transport. The agency names describe different legal authority, even when the same local jail building briefly houses the person.
Case.net can explain a Clinton County state charge, bond, sentence, or Missouri commitment, but it is not the federal docket. A local probation entry does not prove release from federal detention.
